HEALTHY HAIR WHILE USING HOT TOOLS

This is the Million Dollar Question, how to keep your hair healthy and still use a blow dryer, flat iron or curling iron! How to prevent breakage, brittle and dry hair when you use heat tools to style your hair.  Here are a few tricks that I find successful with myself and clients.

  1. When using a flat iron,  Watch your temperature Fine-Medium Hair not over 375, Medium - Thick hair not over 400 degrees, you are not a professional! Leave the extreme heat to the professionals!!
  2.  The healthier your hair is at the start the better you are, so make sure you are using high quality products and receiving treatments from your hair professional. This helps to keep your hair healthy while you are using heat tools.
  3. When using a blow dryer, make sure that you use the De'Anasa Leave in Treatment it will detangle and is a heat protector.
  4. Prior to using a flat iron or curling iron make sure that your hair is dry!! Using an iron on wet or damp hair can cause permanent damage to your hair strands!
  5. A Thermal Protection spray is Necessary!! Honestly you can’t use too much. I like to spray in sections to make sure that I get all areas!
  6. Keep your De'Anasa Botanical Oil Serum close! Use a small amount of your oil/serum prior to using your heat tool.
  7. Try and preserve your hair by using a satin bonnet, satin scarf or pillowcase, do not use heat tools daily! 3x a week Max!!!

With all this protection, your hair will stay stylish and healthy at the same time! Note all tips vary for different hair textures and density of your hair. If you have  fine - medium hair reduce everything a notch.
